It's easy to feel like you're drowning in a sea of information, and that you're not sure which direction to turn to find the answers that make sense to you and your unique journey.
You don't have to do this alone (actually, I encourage you not to). Adding a doula to your support team gives you the calming reassurance that every expecting parent needs. A doula can help guide you through the decisions you need to make and provide you with the information and support you need to feel confident and empowered. With your doula by your side, you'll have a warm, sensitive, and knowledgeable ally to help you navigate this exciting time in your life.
Meet the Doula
Hi, my name is Angel. I’m a faith-based doula and a proud mom of three beautiful children. My journey into this calling began after having my youngest daughter. That experience opened my eyes to the power of support and how many women especially Black mothers deserve more of it. Seeing the rise in maternal mortality inspired me to become part of the change.
I serve families throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia, and have supported clients as far as South Carolina. In addition to birth work, I’m also an end-of-life doula. After being present for the transitions of loved ones, I felt deeply called to provide peace and care during their final moments.
Whether at the beginning or end of life, my mission is to offer compassionate, faith-rooted support that brings comfort, confidence, and care.
What is a doula support?
As a doula, I work with clients to support them throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. What does this mean? It means I'm here, day or night, to provide you with continuous care, comfort, encouragement, and guidance throughout the entire process. Wondering what that cramp you just felt was? Curious if you can eat that funny cheese? I'm here for you. During pregnancy, I'll provide you with gentle guidance and informational support and be the judgement-free voice that you need. When the big day comes, I'll be by your side from the first contractions until your baby is in your arms. No matter what kind of birth you're planning or how many times that plan needs to change, I'll help you understand your options, ensure that your preferences are upheld and respected, and make sure that your partner is hands-on, involved, and supported, too. My only goal for your birth is to help you have a positive and fulfilling birth experience.

Virtual Doula
Need support, but you’re miles away? At Peculiar Doula Care we offer our services virtually as well . You would get the same level of care, but through a video call. With this package there are three options.
Let's talk about your birth! During the consultation, we'll discuss your pregnancy, your desired outcomes for birth and postpartum, and how doula support will help you in reaching these goals. Later in your pregnancy, we'll meet for prenatal sessions and create a plan for the birth you envision. You will have round-the-clock access to phone, text, and email support for all of your questions, concerns, and worries, and I will be available 24/7 leading up to your baby's arrival. Let's have a conversation about how doula support can empower you and your partner to confidently welcome your new baby into the world.
